Would you like to volunteer with us?

We are looking for lovely people aged 18+ who can help in the week running up to the festival to help dressing and the event organisation and give information out to the general public during the Big Splash festival.

If you like meeting people,  love performance and/or would like to support the festival and show Newport in it’s best and friendliest light then we’d love to hear from you.

If you would like to help or want more information, please email glenys.burnett-jones@newportlive.co.uk by the 8 June.

Volunteers from all backgrounds are warmly encouraged. If you have any access issues then please let us know.

The festival is an accessible event and we  are particularly keen to hear from volunteers who have experience of working with or supporting Deaf and disabled people to ensure we remain accessible to all.

Volunteer Call out!

The Big Splash is one of Newport’s largest free, family events. This year it’s jam packed with performances and shows across the city centre, from Friars Walk to Commercial Street to the Riverfront.

We need enthusiastic and dependable people who can support the festival by volunteering a few hours over the 2 days (wearing balloons is completely optional we promise!). You can get involved with assisting with performances, stewarding, helping the public and making our festival accessible to all.

If you’d like to join the Big Splash team, please have a look at our Volunteer Role Description and take a few minutes to fill out the Be a Volunteer! application form. We look forward to having you on board!
Volunteers are needed for a minimum of three hours on either the 16th or 17th July plus be available for a training session on either Tuesday 5th July between 6-8pm or Thursday 7th July  between 6-8pm. Once we have received your application we will contact you by the 24th June to confirm your availability and role.
